Feeding the Farm Flock for Production - Part 1: Basic Nutrition, Producer Attitudes, Feeding for Breeding, and Early Gestation

Feeding the Farm Flock for Production is a four part series pertaining to basic ewe nutrition and its effect on production-related decisions. The progression of this basic nutrition series parallels the production cycle of the ewe. Part I addresses breeding and early gestation, Part II covers late gestation, Part III discusses lactation and maintenance, and Part IV vitamins and minerals. Basic nutrition is simplified by limiting the discussion to traditional Michigan production practices. A summary of feeding recommendations can be found at the end of each installment. 7 pp.
