Sandy has a BA in Elementary Education and an MA in Reading Instruction. Both degrees were earned from Michigan State University.  Sandy is a member of the Volunteerism Area of Expertise team and the 4-H Club Development Priority team. She is a member of the Michigan Association of Extension 4-H Youth Staff and the National Association of 4-H Agents. She has seventeen years experience in the K-12 system as a classroom teacher, remedial reading instructor, adult educator and migrant program director. Sandy is responsible for the 4-H Youth Program in Newaygo County.
