Kent County Extension 4-H Educator

Glenda joined the Kent 4-H Team in March of 2007.

Glenda started her Extension career working for the University of Arizona in Phoenix.  IN 1985 she returned to Michigan and joined Michigan State University in the fall of 1988 as a part time Agent in Ionia County.

Glenda was named full time 4-H Agent in Ionia County in February, 1989 and served there until January, 2002 when she was promoted to Extension 4-H Educator in Washtenaw County.

After three and a half years in Washtenaw County, Glenda decided to investigate other volunteer systems.  She worked for the Federal government at the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center as a Voluntary Service Specialist, and also as the Volunteer Coordinator at Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary where she created and developed a volunteer program for Michigan's largest no-kill animal rescue.  Although no longer an employee at Mackenzie's, Glenda volunteers there on a regular basis.

Glenda holds a BS degree in Animal Science and a MS degree in Ag and Extension Education, (centering on adult education), both from Michigan State University.  She has received the Presidential Citation, Team Award, and the Michigan Distinquished Service Award for her work from the Michigan Association of Extension 4-H Youth Staff.

In 2011, Glenda's responsibilities changed to include supervision of 4-H program staff in Allegan, Muskegon, Ottawa and Kent Counties, as well as 50% responsibility in Kent County.
