Grice.Sherry
Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development
As an Extension Educator for the 4-H Youth Program for over twenty-five years, Sherry has provided leadership for volunteer management that includes recruitment, training, motivation, and assistance to a diverse audience of over 350 volunteer leaders yearly. The volunteers serve as group leaders and resource people to interact with youth in Calhoun County. Sherry provides service to over 900 youth in club work and about 1000 youth in special interest programming on a yearly basis.
She has been involved with many key initiatives in several communities over the years, such as Kellogg Youth Initative Partnership (W.K. Kellogg Foundation), Kellogg Youth Initiative Partnership Cabinet, Calhoun County Communities That Care (Title V Delinquency Prevention Program), National Conversation on Youth Development in The 21st Century, Community Partners for Albion's Youth, and Albion Positive Youth Development Task Force. Her career shows sustained commitment to the growth and development of young people, their families and the community as a whole. Sherry’s work is captured on the video “Partnerships for Positive Youth Development”. This video illustrates how partnerships recognize and strengthen the assets of young people, while acknowledging the presence of, and reducing the impact of, the risk factors that exist.
