Environmental Turfgrass Specialist
Ron Calhoun is a native of Michigan and has an undergraduate degree in landscape design and a master’s degree in turfgrass management from Michigan State University. Ron has worked in the green industry since the mid-80’s with jobs in the athletic field, property maintenance, arboretum, greenhouse and golf course segments. At MSU, he has primary teaching, research and extension responsibilities in the areas of turfgrass weed ecology and management and plant growth regulator use. Ron manages several web sites for the MSU Turf Team and recently celebrated his 10-year anniversary with MSU. He is an avid photographer and frequent speaker at state turfgrass conferences. He teaches three GCSAA seminars and has been a member since 1992.
