W. J. Beal Botanical Garden on the campus of MSU.  Named after its founder, Professor W.J. Beal, created in 1873.

The "Yardener" maintained by freelance garden writer Jeff Ball.  Master Gardener Nancy Szerlag also provides content.  Both Ball and Szerlag are columnists for the Detroit News weekend "Homestyle" section.  Also check out their gardening blog at greatgardeningsecrets.com
