Professional Associations

MCEA -- Michigan Council of Extension Associations
The council is composed of representatives of the professional associations, with the purpose of strengthening two-way communication with Extension Administration and promoting cooperation among all Extension personnel

MAEA -- Michigan Association of Extension Agents
The mission of MAEA is to serve as the professional association of Michigan State University professional Extension Staff members serving the people of Michigan in the Agriculture and Natural Resources and related areas. 

MEAFCS -- Michigan Extension Association of Family and Consumer Science Educators
The professional organization for Michigan State University Extension Family and Consumer Science Educators that fosters better communication within the organization, and furthers the professional development of its members 

MEA4-HYS -- Michigan Association of Extension 4-H Youth Staff.
The Michigan Association of Extension 4-H Youth Staff promotes, strengthens, enhances and advocates the personal and professional growth of the 4-H youth developer.

CNRDA -- Community and Natural Resources Development Association -
The Mission of the Michigan State University Extension Community and Natural Resource Development Association is to encourage excellence in educational programs, processes, research, and technical assistance through the exchange of ideas and methods, collaboration, and professional development of members to benefit communities. 

Epsilon Sigma Phi
ESP -- Epsilon Sigma Phi - Extension's professional honorary association dedicated to fostering standards of excellence in the Extension System and developing the Extension profession and professional. Epsilon Sigma Phi leads the Extension System in promoting and supporting professionalism in Extension.

(MESSSA) Michigan State University Extension Specialist and State Staff Association
The Michigan State University Extension Specialist and State Staff Association provides for liaison between itself and other Extension organizations, particularly the Michigan Council of Extension Associations and the Extension Administration, arranges for and conducts seminars and educational programs for specialists, and provides recognition for outstanding extension work by specialists. This association welcomes anyone serving in an extension capacity on-campus or in collaborative relationships with more that a 10% appointment.
