Frequently Asked Questions:

Will I get a license from you after I complete your child care classes?

No. There is a  registration process you must complete with the State of Michigan in- order to become a licensed child care provider.

Are your classes needed in order to apply for a license?

No, however you will receive a certificate of participation and class hours attended can be used towards your required training hours needed to maintain license.

How do I become licensed?

You must request information through the state office. They will send a registration packet which will include personal information forms, information on the registration process and a copy of the child care rule booklet.

I want to do day care in my mom's house, not the house I live in. Can I do that?

A license or certificate of registration is issued to a specific person for a specific address only.

I am renting my home, can I still do childcare?

We recommend you first speak with you landlord for permission.

How do I know if my home is large enough to do daycare? Can I do child care in my basement?

Contact your licensing consultant. Your licensing consultanat is the best person to answer any of your questions related to state child care guidlines and requirements.
