The Saginaw County 4-H Leader's Advisory Board was established in April of 2006.  This group has replaced the former 4-H Council and 4-H Association.  Each club should be sending a representative to this meeting.  An executive board has been elected and meetings are being held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Saginaw County MSU Extension Office.  Executive Board Officers are as follows:

Chairman:  Eric Frahm (Frankenmuth Area Patriots)

Vice Chair:  Marie Koch (Pacesetters 4-H)

Secretary:  Anne Wade (Ready Riders 4-H)

           Treasurer:  Dawn Struck (Brady 4-H)

Minutes from the monthly meetings will be posted here on the web page as they are approved.

How to Join 4-H Detach

Michigan 4-H sticks to some basic guiding principles that define how it approaches its work with youth. If you want to read the full document, you can download Michigan 4-H Guiding Principles as an Adobe PDF handout.

Here’s the quick version.

  1. Youth develop positive relationships with adults and peers.
  2. Youth are physically and emotionally safe.
  3. Youth are actively engaged in their own development.
  4. Youth are considered participants rather than recipients in the learning process.
  5. Youth develop skills that help them succeed.
  6. Youth recognize, understand and appreciate multiculturalism.
  7. Youth grow and contribute as active citizens through service and leadership.
