Welcome to Michigan State University Extensionin Osceola County
The Osceola County Extension office is part of a statewide information and education delivery network applying university level, research based knowledge to locally identified critical issues. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
MSU Extension staff members use the university’s resources to meet needs in every Michigan county. The County Partner Report demonstrates how MSU Extension educators, program associates and specialists are working with nonprofit organizations, agencies, schools, businesses, farms and families to "bring knowledge to life" in your community. MSU Extension began an organization-wide effort to look at its programming and administrative structure in early 2009. The goal was to ensure that MSUE continues to remain responsive to the needs of Michigan's residents and makes the best use of resources.
The redesign effort was made public in the fall of 2009, and with input from stakeholders and decision makers from across the state, it is being launched in 2010. "One Stop Shop" for Economic Help for Michigan Families
While Michigan is in a turbulent economic climate, there is help for families to weather the economic storm! MSU Extension has developed a resource list (PDF) that can assist families with career development, entrepreneurship, financial and housing education resources.
In addition, a new national Web site created by eXtension, Managing Your Money In Tough Economic Times, highlights tips and tools to help families stretch their food dollars, decide what bills to pay first, build an emergency fund and manage debt, among other things.
To speak to someone about available resources specific to your community or to speak with an educator about any of these important topics, please contact your local MSU Extension office.
MSUE Toll Free Number
MSU Extension Now Has Toll Free Number
MSU Extension in October announced a new toll free phone service for Michigan citizens and businesses to use when calling their local county MSU Extension office. Now those long distance callers to the Osceola County Extension Office calling from Marion, Tustin or anywhere else where it is a long distance call may use the toll free number.
The number to dial is 1-888-MSUE-4MI(1-888-678-3464). Callers will need a touch tone phone to use the service. They will be prompted by an automated system to enter the first five letters of the county they are calling, in the case of Osceola MSU Extension they would enter on the phone touch pad osceo (67236) to reach the Osceola MSU Extension office. Now calling their local MSU Extension Office is easier than ever!
