MSUE Administrative Handbook: Human Resources
 

SUBJECT: JURY DUTY
 
POLICY: MSUE recognizes the civic responsibility of staff members to serve jury duty and makes provision for them to perform such duty without loss of pay.
 
APPLIES TO: MSU Provost-Appointed Staff and Non-Academic Staff
 
PROVISIONS/RESTRICTIONS:
 
  1. MSUE staff members who are absent from work for jury duty for 80 continuous hours or less than 80 continuous hours receive regular pay and jury duty pay. Proof of jury duty is submitted to the supervisor.

  3. MSUE staff members who are absent from work for jury duty for more than 80 continuous hours will receive the difference between the pay received from the court and the MSUE pay.  Proof of jury duty is submitted to the supervisor and proof of jury duty pay is submitted to MSU Payroll.

  5. The staff member’s benefits will continue.

  7. The staff member is expected to report for regular University duty when temporarily excused from attendance at court.
