SUBJECT: EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE / SUPPLEMENTAL EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT
 
POLICY: The MSU Educational Assistance Program is available to MSUE off-campus non-academic staff members. Additionally, MSUE will provide reimbursement through payroll; which is taxable, (up to $500 per academic year) for certain expenses associated with participation in the Educational Assistance Program.  The reimbursement increase and the change in the method of payment is effective beginning the fall 2005 semester. 
 
APPLIES TO: MSUE Non-academic employees (program associates, CT's, AP's)
 
PROVISIONS/RESTRICTIONS:
 
  1. Refer to Educational Assistance Guidelines for participation in that program.

  2. Approval for Educational Assistance for credit classes leading to a degree creates eligibility for the up to $500 per academic year MSUE Supplemental Expense Reimbursement through payroll.
 
PROCEDURES:
 
  1. Submit the necessary application materials for Educational Assistance.

  2. Submit a completed Supplemental Expense Reimbursement Form within 60 days of the completion of the semester/term.
