OBLIGATING THE NAME OF MSU - SIGNATURES |

| POLICY: |
Certain MSU officials have been authorized by the
Board of Trustees to obligate the name of the University relative to
leases, contracts, agreements, and other like commitments, written or
verbal, particularly those involving liability considerations. |

| APPLIES TO: |
All MSUE staff members. |
| |
| PROVISIONS/RESTRICTIONS: |
| |
- It is inappropriate for any MSUE employee to obligate MSU
in a contractual arrangement.
- If a document obligating MSU is not signed by an authorized
MSU official, generally the Assistant Vice President for Finance, it is
considered invalid.
- Considerable jeopardy could accrue to any MSUE employee who
commits the name of MSU without proper authorization.
